Refresh or Rebuild?

Animated reaction showing someone carefully thinking through a creative decision.

If you've found yourself staring at your website, your Instagram or even your business cards thinking:

"Something doesn't feel quite right anymore."

But you can’t put your finger on whether you should completely change everything or just refresh what you’ve already got?

Let’s break down the differences. First, let me ask a question…

Has your business changed or has your taste changed?

If you're still working with the same kind of clients, offering the same services and your business is doing what it's always done... I’d argue your business hasn’t changed.

Naturally as your business grows, your standards will change, you grow in confidence and you have a clearer idea of what feels like you and your business. Sometimes your branding just needs to catch up.

So, what does a refresh look like?

Think of it as giving your brand a bit of TLC 💆🏽‍♀️

Foundations are still there but maybe the colours aren't working as well as they used to or your website could do with a fresh pair of eyes.

A refresh isn't about starting from scratch, it's about making sure your branding reflects the business you've already built.

Now let’s unpack a complete rebuild

A rebuild is more focused on unpacking what you've built and where you want the business to go next 🎯

Sometimes you’ve outgrown where you started and other times the foundations never existed in the first place. Both are totally common; plenty of small businesses launch with a logo, a colour palette and a vibe… but not a strategy.

A creative strategy gives you a clear sense of what you want to be known for, who you're speaking to and how your brand shows up visually; imagery, colours, fonts.

So, which one do you need?

Ask yourself this: is it the way your brand looks that's bothering you or what your brand is even saying anymore?

If it's the first, that's a refresh. Same business, same foundations, just a bit of TLC.

If it's the second, that's a rebuild. Time to go back to the start and figure out what your brand should actually be saying before touching how it looks.

It’s hard to see your own brand clearly from the inside, which is why it’s the first thing we’ll unpack in our first chat (more on that here)

Whatever you need, it all starts with a proper look at what you've built and what it needs next.

If you're ready to figure out which one is yours, let’s have a chat
